Telecom Engineer – Telecom Infrastructure & Support

About the role

We are looking for a Telecom Engineer to join Axians Emirates, the telecom and security solutions arm of VINCI Energies in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering technical support, installation, commissioning and maintenance for a wide range of telecommunications and security systems serving oil & gas and defence clients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for radio systems (VHF, UHF, HF), satellite communications, PABX, IP telephony, fiber optics, structured cabling, CCTV, access control and network infrastructure.
• Perform system diagnostics, fault isolation, troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis using OTDR, spectrum analyzers and cable testers.
• Configure, integrate and optimise telecom equipment to meet performance and reliability requirements.
• Investigate and resolve radio‑frequency interference issues in coordination with stakeholders.
• Guide junior engineers and technical staff through knowledge transfer and on‑the‑job support.
• Participate in installation, commissioning, upgrades and modifications of new and existing systems, reviewing technical drawings and vendor documentation.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance according to OEM recommendations.

Required profile

• At least 60 months (5 years) of experience in telecom engineering and technical support.
• Proven experience in installation, commissioning and maintenance of telecom and security systems.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
