Teppanyaki Chef – Live Cooking Specialist

About the role

The Teppanyaki Chef will lead the live‑cooking station at Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel, delivering entertaining table‑side performances while preparing high‑quality Japanese cuisine. You will interact with guests, creating memorable dining experiences that reflect the brand’s energetic and professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present teppanyaki dishes directly at the guests’ tables.
• Engage guests with friendly conversation, explain menu items, ingredients, and cooking methods.
• Maintain a fun, energetic atmosphere while adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
• Coordinate timing between entertainment elements and food preparation for seamless service.
• Handle special requests, dietary inquiries, and resolve guest concerns promptly.
• Manage large groups and ensure inclusive, enjoyable experiences for all guests.

Required profile

• Strong showmanship and confidence in live cooking presentations.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Professional appearance and courteous manners that reflect the Benihana brand image.
• Ability to adapt interaction level based on guest preferences and cultural backgrounds.
