Thermodynamics Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Thermodynamics Engineer to join a leading atmospheric water‑generation technology company in Abu Dhabi. The role is responsible for owning the thermodynamic performance of our AWG products, combining advanced modelling, laboratory validation and high‑quality technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Model, optimise and validate refrigeration cycles and heat‑exchange systems to maximise dehumidification efficiency and water yield under UAE climate conditions.
• Define performance targets, select compressors, heat exchangers, expansion devices, fans and refrigerants.
• Develop and maintain simulation models (EES, MATLAB, ANSYS or similar) and correlate them with lab data.
• Plan and execute laboratory tests, analyse data and drive improvements in capacity, energy efficiency and reliability.
• Produce technical specifications, performance reports, test reports and design notes for certification and production readiness.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electronics engineers to align airflow, controls and thermal performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 3–10 years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, dehumidification or thermal product development.
• Proven track record in lab validation, performance testing and technical documentation.
