Unified Communication Engineer

About the role

The Unified Communication Engineer will design, implement, manage and support Blackbox’s unified communications platforms, ensuring high availability, security and performance. You will work on voice, video, messaging and collaboration solutions that enable seamless communication across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure and maintain UC platforms such as Cisco CUCM, Avaya, Microsoft Teams Phone System, Zoom Unified Platform and associated SBCs (AudioCodes, Ribbon, Sonus, etc.). Manage voice routing, call flows, dial plans, SIP trunks, voicemail and IVR.
• Provide Level 1/2 support for UC and telephony incidents, monitor system performance, perform root‑cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Integrate UC solutions with enterprise applications (Active Directory, Exchange, CRM, ERP). Manage meeting‑room systems, video‑conferencing hardware, Teams Rooms/Zoom Rooms and instant‑messaging/presence tools.
• Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs and knowledge articles. Lead or support upgrade projects, migrations and roll‑outs while coordinating with vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Electronics & Communications, Computer Science or related field.
• 3–7 years of hands‑on experience in Unified Communications engineering.
• Preferred certifications: Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer (MS‑720/MS‑721), Cisco CCNA/CCNP Collaboration, ITIL v4 Foundation.
• Strong background in VoIP, SIP, PBX systems, SBCs and telephony protocols. Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone or Cisco CUCM is highly desirable.
