Veterinary Adviser – Temporary Consultancy (UAE)

About the role

An experienced UAE‑based veterinarian is needed to provide specialist input for a veterinary vaccine feasibility study supporting a UAE government authority. The consultant will work with a multidisciplinary team on a flexible, call‑off basis through December 2026, offering practical expertise on animal health, livestock production, disease control and vaccination practices across the UAE and GCC.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate data on livestock populations, disease prevalence and vaccination practices in the UAE and GCC.
• Challenge assumptions on vaccine demand and uptake based on field experience.
• Provide expert input on disease prevention, control, surveillance and vaccination programmes.
• Participate in client, stakeholder and expert meetings and attend field visits to camel, sheep, goat and cattle farms.
• Interpret field observations and explain technical veterinary matters to non‑specialist stakeholders.

Required profile

• Veterinary degree (DVM, BVSc, BVMS or equivalent) with at least 10 years of professional experience.
• Extensive ruminant health expertise, especially camels, sheep, goats and cattle, within the UAE and wider GCC.
• Current residence in the UAE and immediate availability for short‑notice assignments.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills highly advantageous.
