Vice President, Governance & Control

About the role

The Vice President, Governance & Control will lead financial control activities for the Business Finance division covering Personal, Business, Wealth and Privileged Client Banking. The role ensures accounting practices align with standards, manages audit and risk processes, and drives continuous improvement across the division.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and monitor financial control measures to prevent mis‑treatment and operational loss.
• Coordinate with the Group Control team to resolve reconciliation breaks.
• Participate in audit discussions, review audit comments and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Set up and maintain the division’s RCSA matrix and conduct periodic risk assessments.
• Review discretionary authority utilization and incentive booking for compliance with policy.
• Provide accounting guidelines and confirm balance‑sheet and P&L treatments with Group Finance.
• Own and reconcile internal accounts, ensure proper documentation and monthly AOV sign‑off.
• Oversee segment code changes and account transfers, enforcing policy and escalation when needed.
• Produce daily variance reports on balance‑sheet movements.
• Lead financial projects, collaborating with business partners and IT, and manage direct reports.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial control, audit and risk management within banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to coordinate with group control and audit teams.
• Leadership experience managing a team of finance professionals.
• Familiarity with Personal, Business, Wealth and Privileged Client Banking segments.
