Visiting Faculty – Electrical Engineering (Fall 2027)

About the role

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the American University of Sharjah invites applications for a Visiting Faculty position starting in Fall 2027. The role is a one‑year renewable contract focused on teaching at the assistant, associate or full professor level. The department serves about 265 undergraduate and 44 graduate students, with a faculty team of 16 full‑time members and 4 lab instructors. It offers a BSc in Intelligent Systems and Mechatronics, an MSc in Electrical Engineering, and a joint PhD program. AUS is an independent, not‑for‑profit university located in Sharjah, about 15 km from Dubai, accredited locally and by the Middle States Commission in the US, with the BSc program ABET‑accredited.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate electrical engineering courses.
• Teach graduate electrical engineering courses.

Required profile

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate students.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research (highly desirable).
• Experience with the American model of higher education (highly desirable).
