Warehouse Assistant

About the role

The Warehouse Assistant will support daily warehouse operations, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and safely. You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and other team members to maintain accurate inventory and a clean working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, unload and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Store goods safely, label them correctly and keep the warehouse organised for easy retrieval.
• Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch within required timeframes.
• Load and unload vehicles following manual‑handling and site‑safety procedures.
• Conduct regular stock counts, report discrepancies, damaged goods or shortages.
• Update stock records, delivery documents and warehouse systems accurately.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks, trolleys and scanners safely.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe warehouse environment.
• Assist with returns, transfers, recycling and disposal of damaged or obsolete stock.
• Support additional logistics activities as directed by the Warehouse Manager or Supervisor.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a warehouse, stock control or similar role is preferred.
• Ability to handle physical work, including lifting and moving items.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.
• Basic computer literacy and confidence using warehouse management systems.
• Reliable, punctual, team‑oriented and able to follow health‑ and safety procedures.
