Well Engineer

About the role

The Well Engineer provides engineering and operational support for one or more rigs or well sites, delivering optimized technical well designs and ensuring safe, efficient execution. You will develop well proposals, budgets, and end‑of‑well reports while collaborating with project teams and service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Well Proposals, Basis of Designs, and Well Programs (Drilling, Completion, Workover).
• Develop project budgets, schedules, and well control briefings.
• Provide real‑time technical support and risk management throughout project execution.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and capture design optimisations.
• Assist in incident response, recovery, and investigations.
• Participate in selection and evaluation of service companies, suppliers, and equipment.
• Conduct HARC and other risk assessments and forecast medium‑ and long‑term program needs.
• Monitor daily operational progress (scope, time, cost, quality) and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in well engineering or related oil‑field operations.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver technical well designs and budgets.
• Experience supporting rig or well‑site operations and managing risk assessments.
