Account Manager – Francophone Africa

About the role

Remitly is seeking an Account Manager for Francophone Africa to drive commercial, product and operational performance of its most strategic money‑movement partners across North and West Africa. The role involves managing relationships with banks, aggregators, mobile wallets, regulators and other third parties while supporting partner onboarding and regulator stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities

• Jointly develop regional strategy with the Business Development head and own a tiered partner strategy and annual plan for new and existing partners in North and West Africa.
• Engage in quarterly planning with cross‑functional teams (product, treasury, engineering, legal, marketing, operations, finance, regulatory) to set goals and priorities.
• Own and drive initiatives with key strategic partners, focusing on cost efficiencies, speed, quality, working‑capital efficiencies and new product enablement.
• Negotiate renewals, amendments and economic terms while expanding the product footprint.
• Assist with new partner onboarding in close collaboration with the regional Business Development lead.
• Support stakeholder management for regulators in key markets.

Required profile

• Strong functional background in strategic partner management.
• Experience in the payments or remittance space.
• Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem across North and West Africa.
• Proven ability to influence and negotiate both externally and internally.
• Strategic perspective on partnership development.
