Accountant - Corporate Services (IKEA UAE, Qatar, Oman)

About the role

The Accountant role ensures financial controlling and management for IKEA in the UAE, Qatar and Oman. It covers accounting operations through SAP and Navision to support trading activities, working with stores, business functions, suppliers and external parties to ensure compliance and efficient reporting. The focus is on sales and purchase postings, accounts payable and inter-company transactions under strict internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Sales and collections: coordinate with the Cash office on daily open cash collection summaries for stores, central unit and restaurants; resolve system issues with IKEA IT; monitor and reconcile collection summaries in Navision at month-end, sharing entries with R2R and O2C teams; prepare monthly GL schedules
• Purchase posting: facilitate purchase postings in Navision and uploads in SAP, check consistency between the two systems, coordinate with the Store In-store Logistics Team and monitor General Ledger accounts monthly
• Accounts payable: reconcile vendor control GL accounts with the Shared Service AP team, review vendor reconciliations monthly, and manage utility and ad-hoc payments
• Internal controls: comply with group accounting and financial policy, work with teams on VAT compliance and maintain internal controls
• Inter-company movements: generate regular reports, follow up pending invoices, accept ICMs and keep an updated pending ICM report

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in finance
• At least 3 years of experience as Accounts Executive or Accounts Assistant
• Tax accounting experience is advantageous

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP software
• Excel and MS Office
• Knowledge of accounting software, preferably ERP systems such as SAP
• Attention to detail, analytical skills and effective communication
