Accountant

About the role

ADEPTS is hiring a detail-oriented Accountant for its Abu Dhabi office. The role involves managing accounting assignments for clients across different industries and working closely with the accounting, audit and tax teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts and supporting documentation for assigned clients.
• Handle general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Support UAE VAT compliance and corporate tax workings.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Coordinate with clients to obtain records, resolve queries and meet reporting deadlines.
• Assist with audit requirements and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; ACCA, CA or CMA qualification, or progress towards one, is an advantage.
• Preferably 4-5 years of relevant accounting experience, including in the UAE.
• Experience in an accounting or professional services firm is preferred.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS and UAE VAT.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple client assignments.
