Accountant

About the role

Reneco is looking for an Accountant to join its Finance team in Abu Dhabi. The Accountant handles daily accounting activities and supports financial closing, reporting and audits, keeping records accurate and properly documented.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily accounting transactions with correct account coding and approvals
• Process supplier invoices, verify documents and prepare payment requests
• Issue and record customer invoices, monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments
• Review employee expense claims and advances, and perform bank reconciliations and petty cash records
• Prepare journal entries, including accruals, prepayments and payroll entries
• Maintain the fixed asset register and reconcile supplier, customer and other balance sheet accounts
• Support month-end and year-end closing and prepare accounting schedules and reports
• Provide documents and explanations for internal and external audits and help improve internal controls

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• At least five years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries
• Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English
• Preferred: previous accounting experience in the UAE, audit support and VAT accounting, and French or Arabic

Required skills

• Proficiency in Oracle ERP systems
• Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel for reconciliations and reporting
• Knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping
