Accountant

About the role

The Accountant performs daily accounting operations, prepares periodic financial reports and ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulations, supporting sound financial decisions and the organisation's financial stability.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily journal entries and financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
• Reconcile bank statements, customer accounts and supplier accounts.
• Monitor expenses and revenues and ensure accurate documentation of all financial records.
• Prepare and submit tax returns and required reports to government authorities (e.g. VAT).
• Assist in internal and external audit processes.
• Maintain and organise financial documents and accounting records.
• Follow up on accounts receivable and payable and ensure timely settlement.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support and cost analysis.
• Comply with the organisation's approved financial policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Registered Tax Agent status is strongly preferred and will be a key competitive advantage.
• Minimum 3-4 years of experience in accounting.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
• Proficiency in both Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and ERP accounting software.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
