Accountant - UAE VAT & CT Compliance

About the role

The Accountant manages all accounting operations, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting and maintains compliance with UAE VAT and CT laws. The role provides financial insights through detailed reports and analysis, supports strategic decisions and implements internal controls to safeguard assets.

Key responsibilities

• General ledger: maintain and oversee it, keeping records of fixed assets and their depreciation
• Accounts payable and receivable: invoicing, payments and collections, plus regular bank reconciliations
• VAT/CT compliance: prepare and file returns on time, keep transaction records, advise internal stakeholders and coordinate VAT audits
• Financial reporting: prepare income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements, analyse budget vs actuals and report to management
• Internal controls and process improvement: safeguard assets, improve efficiency and accuracy
• Audits: run periodic internal audits and support external auditors
• Ad hoc administrative tasks requested by the Line Manager

Required profile

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
• 2-5 years of finance experience in a reputable organization (real estate is an advantage)
• Experience with UAE VAT/CT regulations and compliance
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and to learn new software

Required skills

• Very good Excel and Tally skills
• UAE VAT/CT, IFRS and GAAP knowledge
• Strong knowledge of e-invoicing under UAE labour law
• Ability to analyse financial data and prepare reports
