Assistant General Manager

About the role

The Assistant General Manager will support the General Manager in overseeing day‑to‑day operations across a diversified group of companies. This hands‑on leader will drive efficiency, ensure strategic plans are executed and act on behalf of the GM when required.

Key responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in overseeing operations, administration and performance across all group companies.
• Coordinate between business units to align work with group objectives, budgets and timelines.
• Monitor KPIs, financial performance and operational reports, recommending improvements.
• Lead department heads, enforce policies, SOPs and internal controls.
• Oversee procurement, vendor management, contracts and cost‑control initiatives.
• Handle HR and administrative matters, including manpower planning, compliance and staff welfare.
• Liaise with government authorities, free zones, banks, clients and key partners.
• Identify new business opportunities and support expansion projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management or related field (MBA preferred).
• 15+ years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Proven experience across diverse industries such as trading, manufacturing, contracting, services, hospitality or retail.
• Strong UAE market knowledge, including government processes, labour law and business setup.
• Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, decision‑making and communication skills in English (Arabic an advantage).
• Must own a car, hold a valid UAE driving licence and be willing to work in Ajman.
