Assistant Manager – Model Monitoring

About the role

Emirates NBD is seeking a UAE national to join its Group Risk Management team as an Assistant Manager – Model Monitoring. The role supports the Manager in overseeing the performance of retail and wholesale credit risk models across the bank’s regional entities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring interim tasks related to retail and wholesale credit risk scorecards and models, both in‑house and external.
• Execute the annual model monitoring schedule, ensuring timely data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Prepare and collate monitoring results, documenting findings in line with internal audit and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate monitoring outcomes to stakeholders, escalating significant anomalies for further investigation.
• Extract, cleanse, and organise model input and output data, maintaining audit trails and data lineage.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in statistical modelling, risk analytics or a similar quantitative role.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, SAS, VBA and SQL.
• Strong understanding of statistical techniques and risk modelling concepts (e.g., Basel II, IFRS 9).
