Assistant Nurse – Patient Care Support

About the role

The Assistant Nurse/Midwife will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife to deliver patient‑centred care in line with NMC Healthcare’s vision, mission and values. This role supports daily living activities, monitors patient conditions and contributes to a safe, compassionate care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including meal distribution and hygiene needs, following the patient care plan.
• Observe, record and report vital signs and any changes in patient condition to the supervising RN/RM.
• Respond to emergencies according to policies, perform Basic Life Support and facilitate post‑discharge follow‑up appointments.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and ensure proper flow of patient documents.

Required profile

• Valid license to work as an assistant nurse/assistant midwife with the relevant health authority.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (spoken and written); Arabic is desirable.
• Willingness to work across departments when needed.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• Use of electronic medical record platforms for clinical documentation.
• Compliance with professional re‑licensure requirements.
