Consultant Infectious Diseases

About the role

The Consultant Infectious Diseases will provide primary care to patients with injuries and common illnesses, diagnosing, treating and advising on lifestyle changes within a leading public healthcare network.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, take medical histories and address concerns.
• Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses and disorders, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare and other lifestyle modifications.
• Prescribe medications or therapies and explain medical procedures.
• Collaborate with other physicians, refer to specialists when needed and work with healthcare staff.
• Maintain accurate patient records and comply with medical laws such as HIPAA.

Required profile

• Medical degree with successful completion of residency and internship.
• State license and certification to practice medicine.
• Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership and problem‑solving skills.
• Patience, compassion and attention to detail.
