Assistant - Parts

About the role

AG Motors is seeking a motivated Assistant in the Parts department to support inventory management, order fulfillment and customer service. This role ensures parts are readily available to keep vehicles running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and verify incoming parts shipments against packing slips and invoices.
• Locate and issue parts to service technicians promptly to minimize vehicle downtime.
• Assist retail customers and internal staff with part lookups, pricing and availability, both in person and over the phone.
• Organize and maintain the parts storage area, ensuring items are labeled and shelved correctly.
• Assist in placing orders with suppliers, tracking shipments and following up on backordered items.
• Process defective parts returns and warranty claims according to policies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using the dealership’s DMS and perform regular cycle counts.
• Keep the parts department clean, organized and compliant with safety standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and excellent communication.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Required skills

• Familiarity with automotive parts and components.
• Proficiency with inventory management software or Dealership Management Systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds).
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and email.
