Assistant Professor – Hospital & Healthcare Management

About the role

The College of Business Administration at the American University in the Emirates seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor to teach and develop programs in Hospital and Healthcare Management. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality instruction, mentor students, and contribute to the college’s research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in healthcare management, hospital administration, health policy, quality and safety, and related areas.
• Design, update, and assess curricula and course materials using modern pedagogical approaches.
• Guide student research projects, provide academic advising, and support graduate supervision.
• Engage in scholarly research, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and seek external funding.
• Participate in departmental committees, accreditation activities, and community outreach.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Hospital and Healthcare Management, Health Administration, Public Health, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Completed Ph.D. at the time of recruitment and minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the relevant field.
• At least three Scopus‑indexed publications (or five peer‑reviewed articles) within the last five years.
• UAE Ministry of Education equivalency (or WES equivalency if the degree is not from the USA).
• Minimum two years of teaching experience at an internationally accredited university.
• Strong research record and willingness to collaborate with faculty.
