Assistant Resident Engineer – Overground Metro Stations

About the role

The Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) will support the Resident Engineer in supervising the construction, testing, commissioning and hand‑over of elevated and at‑grade metro stations, ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, contracts and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor contractor activities, supervise civil, structural, architectural and MEP works, and coordinate site inspections.
• Implement quality management systems, review inspections, manage NCRs and ensure compliance with international standards and local regulations.
• Promote HSE culture, conduct safety inspections and monitor environmental requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces, liaise with stakeholders and support technical and progress meetings.
• Assist contract administration, review submissions, monitor variations and support progress measurements.
• Support testing, commissioning, snagging and final acceptance of station systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Construction Engineering or related field; professional engineering certification preferred.
• Minimum 15 years construction supervision experience, at least 5 years on metro or rail infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience supervising elevated or overground station construction, preferably in GCC/UAE.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of station structures, architectural finishes and MEP integration.
• Understanding of rail project interfaces and operational requirements.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions.
• Experience with testing, commissioning and hand‑over processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
