Assistant/Associate Professor – Accounting

About the role

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) in Dubai is seeking a full‑time Assistant or Associate Professor to join its Accounting programme. The role involves teaching, curriculum design, mentorship and research within a smart‑learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate accounting courses using advanced online platforms and innovative technologies.
• Develop and update instructional materials and e‑content for the Accounting curriculum.
• Mentor and advise students throughout their academic journey.
• Design and facilitate professional short courses and workshops for target groups.
• Conduct high‑quality research and publish in peer‑reviewed journals; pursue research funding where possible.
• Support academic programmes and accreditation processes.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB‑accredited university.
• Proven teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels in an AACSB‑accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of academic experience for Associate Professor rank.
• Experience with online/e‑learning environments and ability to integrate industry insights.
• Professional accounting certification is a plus.
