Associate/Full Professor – Commercial, Civil, Arbitration, IP & PIL

About the role

The College of Law at the American University in the Emirates invites qualified Ph.D. holders to join as full‑time faculty for the 2026‑2027 academic year. Candidates will teach and develop courses in Commercial Law, Civil Law, Arbitration, Intellectual Property Law, and Private International Law.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver research‑driven teaching in the specified legal specializations, using case‑based learning, moot court, and mock arbitration.
• Assess student performance, provide academic advising, and contribute to curriculum development and review.
• Participate in departmental committees, professional service, and community outreach.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Law (or closely related field) completed by the time of recruitment.
• Minimum of two years of teaching or professional legal experience at an internationally accredited institution or relevant practice.
• At least three recent articles in Scopus‑indexed journals (or five peer‑reviewed law journal articles) within the past five years.

Required skills

• Curriculum development and review expertise.
• Ability to integrate web‑based legal databases and digital technologies into classroom instruction.
• Excellent proficiency in English (and Arabic where applicable) for teaching and communication.
