Associate/Full Professor Tenured Position in Human-Computer Interaction

About the role

The Computing and Mathematical Sciences Division at MBZUAI seeks established academic leaders to join as tenured/tenure‑track Associate and Full Professors in Human‑Computer Interaction. The focus is on technical data visualization to enable human‑AI collaboration, reasoning, and multi‑stakeholder sensemaking.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead research programs that create interactive visual interfaces for collaborative sensemaking and oversight of complex AI systems.
• Contribute to graduate degree programs, mentor graduate students, and leverage MBZUAI’s compute resources for global impact.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in HCI, Computer Science, Information Science, Cognitive Science, Design Engineering, or a related field by appointment.
• Strong research record in HCI with publications in top‑tier venues and funded research appropriate to career stage.

Required skills

• Expertise in technical data visualization and interactive interface design.
• Ability to translate computational complexity into human‑legible visual representations.
