Automation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to design, optimise and maintain automated warehouse systems for a leading retail distribution operation in the United Arab Emirates. You will work closely with technicians, OEMs and the engineering team to ensure high‑uptime, efficient material handling.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy automated solutions such as conveyor belts, sortation systems, AS/RS, PLCs and SCADA interfaces.
• Analyse system data to improve process flows, logic and overall throughput.
• Lead advanced troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical and software issues.
• Support project planning, testing, commissioning and documentation for new installations or upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintain risk assessments and monitor safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate performance logs, develop technical manuals and present KPI reports to management.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience in warehouse or industrial automation engineering, preferably in retail distribution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering.
• Familiarity with CMMS and Industry 4.0 concepts is a plus.
