AV Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for an AV Supervisor to manage audio‑visual operations at Sofitel Dubai The Palm, a 5‑star beachfront resort. The role involves planning, installing, and operating AV equipment for events, meetings and public areas, ensuring seamless guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Review event orders (BEOs) and coordinate AV set‑up, equipment and timing with the Events team.
• Install, test and operate sound systems, microphones, projectors, LED screens, video walls, stage lighting and video‑conferencing solutions.
• Attend pre‑event briefings, rehearsals and sound checks; remain on‑standby during events to resolve issues instantly.
• Operate audio mixers, lighting consoles and presentation switchers for live events and hybrid/virtual meetings.
• Maintain background music, paging and AV systems across restaurants, bars, pool, beach, spa and public areas.
• Dismantle, clean, store equipment after each event and run preventive maintenance.
• Keep an up‑to‑date inventory, report losses or damage, and coordinate with external AV suppliers.
• Advise clients and the Events team on technical solutions and support upselling of AV packages.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certificate in electronics, audio‑visual, sound engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years AV experience in a 5‑star hotel, convention venue or event production company.
• Good spoken and written English; Arabic or French is a plus.
• Valid UAE driving licence is an advantage.

Required skills

• Hands‑on knowledge of digital mixers, wireless microphones and audio mixers.
• Experience with projectors, LED screens, video walls and stage lighting.
• Proficiency in video‑conferencing platforms and presentation switchers.
• Understanding of signal flow, basic networking and AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron).
