Banquet Supervisor (Arabic Speaker)

About the role

Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, a 5-star beach resort in Abu Dhabi, is hiring a Banquet Supervisor who speaks Arabic. The role supervises and coordinates all banquet operations, ensures service standards and memorable guest experiences, and acts as the main point of contact for Arabic-speaking guests and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the setup, execution and breakdown of banquets, including conferences, meetings, weddings, gala dinners, corporate functions and VIP events.
• Prepare function rooms and event spaces according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), hotel standards and client specifications.
• Hold pre-shift and pre-event briefings and monitor service delivery.
• Coordinate with Culinary, Stewarding, Engineering, Housekeeping, Events and Sales teams.
• Ensure equipment, furniture, audio-visual requirements and amenities are arranged and maintained.
• Act as the primary contact for Arabic-speaking guests, handle their requests and report feedback to management.
• Supervise, train and mentor banquet colleagues, allocate duties and enforce grooming, uniform and conduct standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures, and follow emergency procedures.
• Complete operational reports, attendance records and shift documentation, assist with inventory control and support manpower planning.

Required profile

• Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience in Banquets, Food & Beverage or Events Operations in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality setting.
• Experience managing large-scale events, weddings and VIP functions is highly desirable.
• Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English is mandatory.
• Strong leadership, guest relations, communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of luxury hotel banquet operations and service standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospitality management systems is an advantage.
