BMS HVAC Operator

About the role

The BMS HVAC Operator monitors and operates the Building Management System (BMS), Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) and HVAC plant in a pharmaceutical facility, ensuring controlled areas stay within validated limits.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor BMS/EMS screens for temperature, humidity, pressure, airflow and equipment status, acknowledge and respond to alarms, and log actions.
• Operate and change over AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers and humidification systems according to SOPs and production schedules.
• Perform plant rounds, record parameters, adjust setpoints within validated ranges, and recover rooms after shutdowns.
• Support preventive maintenance, permit‑to‑work isolation, sensor calibration, HEPA filter testing and consumable tracking.
• Maintain GMP‑compliant logbooks, shift reports and data integrity in line with cGMP, EU Annexes, FDA 21 CFR Parts 210/211 and UAE MOHAP requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, HVAC or Refrigeration Engineering.
• 3–5 years of BMS and HVAC operating experience, at least two years in a pharmaceutical environment.
• Hands‑on experience with AHUs, chillers, cleanroom HVAC and controlled environments.

Required skills

• Siemens Desigo CC (preferred) or comparable platforms such as Honeywell, Johnson Controls or Schneider.
• Operation of HVAC plant equipment: chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, heat exchangers, humidifiers/dehumidifiers.
• Alarm management, trend reporting and data‑integrity practices (ALCOA+, 21 CFR Part 11).
