About the role

A leading GCC port operator is looking for a Business Development Manager to bring new bulk and breakbulk cargo to its port facilities across several strategic GCC locations and grow volumes from existing customers. The goal is to double the customer base over the next few years. This is a new-business role: you own the pipeline from first contact to signed volume commitment.

Key responsibilities

  • Win new cargo owners, traders and shipping lines for dry bulk, liquid bulk and breakbulk cargo
  • Grow revenue and throughput from existing accounts
  • Build pricing models, proposals and business cases
  • Negotiate and close long-term volume agreements

Required profile

  • 10+ years in ports, shipping, cargo trading or maritime logistics, with at least 5 years in a business development or commercial role
  • An active network of cargo owners, traders and shipping lines in the GCC
  • A proven record of winning new cargo volumes, with numbers you can show
  • Bachelor's degree in business, maritime, logistics or a related field

Required skills

  • Strong commercial modelling in Excel
  • Pitching in PowerPoint
