Buyer - Toys R Us (Sinyar Management Program)

About the role

Al-Futtaim Retail is recruiting a Buyer for Toys R Us through its Sinyar Management Program, which develops high-potential talent into future retail leaders. The Buyer role develops strategies to optimise the Boys, BRU and R Zone business in the GCC region, aiming for profitable growth and efficient merchandise selection. The post manages over 100 international and local vendors, negotiates prices and works with cross-functional teams on product development, promotions and visual merchandising.

Key responsibilities

• Set yearly buying budgets for assigned categories with the Buying Manager.
• Develop the merchandise strategy for Boys, BRU and R Zone in line with company objectives.
• Prepare sales forecasts, open-to-buy plans and inventory turn strategies.
• Research new trends and product-line advances to inform buying decisions.
• Negotiate lower cost prices with international and local vendors and ensure pricing and promotions match financial objectives.
• Manage, coach and develop the buying team, directing buyers to create customer-focused assortments.
• Collaborate with Operations and Visual Merchandising Managers on store assortment plans, and work with internal and external teams on product development, visual merchandising and marketing plans.

Required profile

• BBA in Business Management or Buying.
• At least 4 years of merchandising experience.
• Preferred knowledge of the local market.
