Carpenter – Retail Store Construction

About the role

GMG is seeking a skilled Carpenter to build, install, and repair wooden structures within its retail stores in Dubai. The role involves creating frameworks, partitions, doors, windows, cabinetry, and other custom woodwork while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and related materials.
• Install doors, windows, floors, and cabinetry with precision.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance of wooden structures to ensure stability and safety.
• Use hand and power tools safely and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Comply with GMG’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) policies and report any hazards.

Required profile

• Up to 2 years of relevant UAE carpentry experience.
• Ability to read simple drawings and plans.
• Knowledge of different wood types and building materials.
• Experience in retail store carpentry is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, saws, and measuring tools.
• Proficiency with power tools such as drills and sanders.
• Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation.
• Accurate measurement, cutting, and fitting of materials.
• Woodworking and carpentry framing, door and cabinet installation.
