Chef De Partie - Aloft Abu Dhabi

About the role

Aloft Hotels is hiring a full-time, non-management Chef De Partie for its property in Abu Dhabi (National Exhibition Centre). The role covers preparing and cooking food according to recipes and quality standards, supporting the kitchen team and keeping food quality under control.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items and prepare cold foods
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters
• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
• Maintain food logs and follow recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist
• Communicate assistance needed during busy periods and inform the Chef of excess food for daily specials
• Tell Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications
• Keep a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and anticipate guests' service needs

Required profile

• At least 3 years of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift objects up to 25 pounds
