Chemist

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and detail‑oriented Chemist to join our refinery team. You will be responsible for performing chemical analysis, monitoring reactions, and ensuring the quality and consistency of refinery processes and products.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control chemical reactions within refinery reactors according to SOPs, process parameters, and QC standards.
• Conduct sampling and chemical analysis of feed, reaction mixtures, intermediates, and reactor output.
• Track critical reactor parameters such as temperature, pressure, pH, concentration, and reaction time.
• Calculate and verify quantities, concentrations, ratios, and dosing requirements for raw materials, chemicals, catalysts, and additives.
• Assist with charging, dosing, mixing, and transferring chemicals into reactors safely.
• Identify and communicate quality issues or process deviations to the QC Manager or Refinery Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of chemical additions, reactor parameters, sampling activities, and test results.
• Ensure all activities comply with SOPs, safety procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a refinery or industrial chemistry environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good documentation, reporting and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work safely with laboratory chemicals and equipment.
