Civil Design Engineer – HV/EHV Substation

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Civil Design Engineer – HV/EHV Substation to join our Dubai Design Hub, supporting power transmission and substation projects across the Middle East and Africa. The position is design‑focused within the Power Transmission & Distribution / Substation / EPC sector.

Key responsibilities

• Perform civil design for HV/EHV AIS and GIS substations (132 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV).
• Prepare and review civil layout, grading, earthworks, roads, paving, storm‑water drainage, cable trenches and underground utilities.
• Design foundations for transformers, equipment, control/GIS buildings and steel structures.
• Produce calculations, drawings, specifications, BOQs and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with electrical, MEP, structural and other disciplines and review vendor drawings.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with international standards and client requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of civil design experience on HV/EHV substation projects.
• Hands‑on experience with AIS and/or GIS substations, preferably 132 kV, 220 kV or 400 kV.
• Prior experience on UAE or GCC substation projects is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multidisciplinary coordination.
