Civil Design Engineer – HV/EHV Transmission Substations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join a fast‑growing electrical engineering consultancy in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on high‑voltage (HV) and extra‑high‑voltage (EHV) transmission substation projects, delivering end‑to‑end civil and structural solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review civil and structural designs for HV/EHV transmission substations in line with TAQA‑T standards.
• Design foundations, equipment supports, cable trenches, duct banks, control buildings and related civil works.
• Prepare and review calculations, technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with electrical, architectural and MEP teams to ensure design integration and resolve technical interfaces.
• Support technical submissions, respond to review comments and obtain design approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Existing TAQA Transmission (TAQA‑T) approval as a Civil Design Engineer.
• Proven experience in civil and structural design for HV/EHV transmission substation projects, preferably in Abu Dhabi.
• Strong knowledge of substation civil works, foundations, equipment supports, cable trenches and control buildings.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with structural design software.
