Civil & Structural Engineer (Steel Fabrication)

About the role

Target Engineering, an EPC and industrial infrastructure company with 50+ years of experience, is looking for an experienced Civil & Structural Engineer (Steel Fabrication) to support the engineering, design review, construction support and execution of major Oil & Gas EPC projects in the UAE. The engineer ensures civil, structural and steel fabrication works comply with project specifications, international standards, quality requirements, HSE regulations and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and coordinate civil and structural designs, calculations, drawings and specifications, and review consultant, subcontractor and third-party deliverables
• Take part in design reviews, technical coordination meetings and value engineering
• Review site layouts, grading, drainage, earthworks and civil interfaces with other disciplines, and evaluate constructability
• Perform and review structural calculations for reinforced concrete and steel, foundations, pipe racks, substations and equipment foundations, and review steel fabrication and erection drawings
• Support construction and site activities, review RFIs, technical queries and field modifications, and take part in site inspections and progress reviews
• Coordinate engineering deliverables across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Marine and Project Controls teams, and support procurement and construction teams
• Review material submittals, technical documentation and inspection requirements, and support QA/QC, audits and management reviews
• Promote safe design and construction, take part in risk assessments, HAZID workshops and safety studies, and report safety concerns

Required profile

• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant Civil & Structural Engineering experience
• Proven experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Power, Marine, Infrastructure, Industrial or EPC projects
• Experience in structural steel fabrication and erection projects highly desirable
• GCC/Middle East project experience preferred; experience with multinational clients, consultants and EPC contractors preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory); Master's degree in Structural, Civil, Geotechnical or Construction Engineering preferred
• Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer or Registered Professional Engineer certification preferred; PMP or PRINCE2 and ISO 9001 auditor certifications preferred
