Clinical Coordinator - OPD Psychiatry & Behavioral Clinic

About the role

American Hospital Dubai is looking for a Clinical Coordinator for its OPD Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Clinic. The role assumes overall responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of the division, directing, coordinating and evaluating its activities to maintain optimal patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate safe, efficient and economical nursing care in line with established standards of care
• Act as a clinical resource to staff and mentor junior nurses
• Provide and support culturally acceptable care for patients and families, collaborating with them and professionals for optimal outcomes
• Stay up to date with clinical practice and promote an evidence-based approach
• Develop measurable improvement goals and implement and evaluate new approaches to meet them
• Ensure optimum physical and budgetary management of the clinic, including contributing to unit budget control and identifying cost improvements
• Coordinate with the Nursing Office so all staff hold a current license and complete departmental competencies; ensure 100% of new staff complete orientation within 120 days
• Promote Care Planning and Clinical Pathways, and formulate, update and implement nursing practice policies and documentation
• Enforce and interpret institutional and departmental policies, and chair hospital-wide and nursing committees as required
• Perform additional duties as required, such as Administration Supervisor

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (minimum 3 years full-time) or a nursing degree (minimum 2 years) with registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia
• UAE nationals: exempt from experience and clinical training requirements for the applied title (birth certificate and mother's family book required); non-UAE graduates from UAE universities need 6 months of clinical training after graduation
• Valid license to practice in the home country or country of last employment, and a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent
• Post-graduate qualification in Nursing Management or Advanced Clinical Specialty preferred
• Minimum of 6 to 7 years of recent post-graduate experience in Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Nursing, with incremental leadership and management experience
• Knowledge of Joint Commission International (JCIA) accreditation
• Arabic and English communication skills are essential; private hospital experience preferred
