Clinical Governance Manager

About the role

The Clinical Governance Manager leads and oversees clinical governance activities across the hospital to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, optimise patient safety and manage clinical risks. The role guides business units in implementing clinical governance policies, oversees medicolegal cases, manages high-level clinical incidents and works with senior leaders, regulators and clinical teams to build a strong culture of safety, quality and accountability. The position is restricted to qualified medical doctors.

Key responsibilities

• Clinical complaints management
• Mortality and morbidity (M&M) or similar case reviews
• Medico-legal case management
• Regulatory liaison with the DOH
• Patient and family engagement
• Physician case reviews and peer review
• Risk management support
• Reporting and governance through periodic reports and dashboards
• Learning and awareness initiatives

Required profile

• Recognized primary medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, MD or equivalent); mandatory eligibility requirement
• Proven experience handling clinical complaints, M&M reviews and medico-legal cases
• Experience conducting clinical audits, case reviews and root cause analysis
• Experience engaging physicians and senior clinical leaders for case and peer reviews
• Desirable: multi-location healthcare experience and knowledge of UAE laws, DHA, DOH, JCI and PDPL standards
