Cloud Platform Operations Engineer

About the role

An experienced Cloud Platform Operations Engineer is sought to design, implement, operate and continuously improve critical cloud data, storage and platform capabilities in a secure, highly regulated environment. The role covers hands-on cloud operations, Snowflake administration, AWS platform management, disaster recovery, Linux operations, CI/CD, data governance and operational resilience, with ownership of both implementation and day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate AWS cloud storage and data platform services, focusing on security, access control, lifecycle management, resilience and cost optimisation.
• Administer and support Snowflake environments for stability, security, performance and readiness.
• Design and maintain Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity capabilities, including RTO/RPO, backup and replication, restore validation, DR runbooks and test execution.
• Own operational support for Linux-based platforms, including secure administration, troubleshooting and tuning.
• Manage platform tooling such as GitHub and CI/CD operational controls.
• Support secure enablement and governance of AWS Bedrock and other AI platform capabilities.
• Support data classification, retention, secure destruction, audit evidence and compliance; assist with DLP operations, policy tuning and alert triage.
• Maintain data-flow architecture documentation, operational runbooks, KPIs, access controls and support procedures.
• Participate in incident management, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement, and work with infrastructure and cyber security stakeholders.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive infrastructure and cloud experience with hands-on operational ownership.
• Strong hands-on AWS cloud operations and Snowflake administration experience.
• Current AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate and SnowPro Advanced: Administrator certifications.
• Strong DR/BC experience (RTO/RPO, restore testing, runbooks, tests) and production Linux administration.
• Experience with data classification, retention, secure disposal and audit evidence; hands-on exposure to DLP operations.
• Ability to document and troubleshoot end-to-end data flows, with strong documentation discipline.
• Experience in a regulated, controlled or audit-driven environment.

• SAP BTP, SAP integration or SAP-connected data flows.
• ITSM, CMDB, change management and security control evidence.
