Commercial Manager – Oil & Gas EPC Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to take full ownership of the contractual and commercial performance of a major Oil & Gas EPC project. This strategic leadership position safeguards contractor entitlement, drives commercial recovery, and ensures successful delivery of the final account and project margin.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all contractual and commercial administration across contractor, consortium/EPC partner, client, PMC, subcontractor and supplier interfaces.
• Manage contract obligations, notices, variations, claims, counter‑claims, back‑charges and final‑account strategies.
• Identify and substantiate entitlement from scope changes, delays, disruption, acceleration measures and compensable events.
• Negotiate and settle variations, claims, disputed items and final‑account agreements.
• Own commercial forecasting – revenue, cost‑to‑complete, estimate at completion, cash flow, commitments and final‑margin.
• Review subcontractor applications, variations and claims to prevent commercial leakage.
• Chair commercial review meetings and provide executive‑level reporting on risks, opportunities and forecast outcomes.
• Mentor quantity surveyors and commercial team members and drive commercial close‑out activities.

Required profile

• 20+ years of industry experience, including at least 10‑12 years in senior commercial or contracts leadership.
• Strong contractor‑side experience on major Oil & Gas EPC or construction projects.
• Proven track record in major claims management, extensions of time, prolongation and disruption claims, and final‑account settlements.
• Experience working with international EPC contractors, joint‑venture/consortium projects and large subcontractor networks.
