Commis 1 – Arabic Cuisine

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal is seeking a Commis 1 to support its Arabic cuisine kitchen. This full‑time position involves preparing special meals, maintaining food quality, and assisting the culinary team during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters.
• Thaw frozen items safely and maintain accurate food logs.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement and garnish of all plates.
• Communicate menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and excess food usage to chefs and service staff.
• Assist with cold‑food preparation and daily specials creation.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential information.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar kitchen role.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
