Commis 1 - Banquet

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Banquet Commis to join the culinary team at Le Meridien in Dubai. The role involves preparing and presenting banquet meals, ensuring quality and consistency, and supporting the kitchen during busy service periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters; monitor cooking processes.
• Pull frozen items for thawing, maintain food logs, and ensure proper portioning and garnish.
• Communicate with chefs and service staff about menu specials, out‑of‑stock items, and excess food for daily specials.
• Monitor food quality and quantity, and report any issues to management.
• Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching team members as needed.
• Follow all safety, security, and hygiene policies; report maintenance needs or incidents.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of company information.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb, standing for long periods, and reaching overhead.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum three years of relevant banquet or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
