Commis 1 – Cold Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis 1 – Cold role supports the kitchen team at Novotel Dubai, preparing and supervising cold dishes while ensuring high standards of hygiene, presentation and service.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control cleanliness of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Prepare work stations, mise en place and follow ordering procedures through the captain.
• Supervise breakfast and à‑la‑carte 24‑hour service, ensuring correct sequence and portion control.
• Report irregularities to the Sous‑chef and hand over duties to the next shift.

Required profile

• Creative and passionate about food and customer service.
• Able to work in a high‑pressure environment and demonstrate teamwork.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma/certification in Culinary arts.
• Previous experience in a 5‑star hotel or comparable hospitality setting.

Required skills

• Culinary diploma or certification.
• Knowledge of first aid and safety regulations.
