Commis 1 – Garage Production

About the role

The Commis 1 – Garage Production supports the kitchen team at W Hotels on Yas Island by preparing special meals, managing inventory, and ensuring food quality. This full‑time position works closely with the Chef and service staff to deliver consistent, high‑standard dishes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters; monitor food quality and quantity.
• Pull frozen items for thawing, maintain food logs, and report excess items for daily specials.
• Communicate menu specials and out‑of‑stock items to Food & Beverage service staff.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling and performance coaching of kitchen staff.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies; report maintenance needs and incidents.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential company information.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree (or equivalent).
• At least 3 years of relevant food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
