Commis 1 – Tasca Kitchen

About the role

The Mandarin Oriental Jumeira is seeking a Commis 1 to join the Tasca Kitchen team. This entry‑level position supports food preparation, buffet set‑up and maintains high hygiene standards in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, peel and prepare ingredients for dish production.
• Prepare mise en place to the highest quality standards set by superiors.
• Set up and replenish buffet stations, store ingredients correctly and label them.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, tools and utensils according to food‑safety standards.
• Report cleanliness and maintenance issues and support daily checks.

Required profile

• High school qualification or equivalent; culinary diploma preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Commis 2 in a Michelin‑starred restaurant.
• Ability to work long hours, lift up to 15 kg and follow strict personal hygiene standards.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen tools, utensils and food hygiene.
