Commis (Food Preparation) – Full‑Time

About the role

The Commis will support the kitchen team at The Ritz‑Carlton Dubai by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. This full‑time, on‑site position is ideal for candidates with basic culinary training and at least one year of related experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash and peel fruits and vegetables, and measure and mix components according to recipes.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, testing foods for proper cooking and monitoring quality throughout preparation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and ensure all kitchen tools and surfaces are cleaned and disinfected.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, follow safety and security policies, and report any maintenance or safety issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related food‑preparation experience.
• No supervisory experience or specific licenses required.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques such as chopping, portioning and measuring.
• Basic food‑safety and sanitation practices.
