Commis I - Pastry

About the role

Rosewood Abu Dhabi's Pastry team creates exceptional desserts, baked goods and pastry experiences for its guests. As a Commis I - Pastry, you will report to the Sous Chef and work closely with the pastry brigade to support daily production in a fast-paced, quality-focused culinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare mise en place and pastry items under the guidance of the Sous Chef, ready for all service periods
• Follow standardized recipes, portion controls and presentation guidelines to keep quality consistent
• Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, FIFO and local regulatory requirements
• Keep ingredients, products and equipment clean, organized and properly stored
• Support the maintenance and care of pastry equipment and work areas
• Contribute to a safe, collaborative kitchen environment

Required profile

• Experience in a pastry kitchen within a hotel, restaurant, bakery or similar hospitality setting
• Passion for pastry arts and eagerness to learn and develop culinary skills
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene, sanitation and safe food handling
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative team
• Effective communication in English; additional languages are an advantage
