Commis II – Kitchen Assistant at Luxury Hotel

About the role

Join the culinary team at InterContinental Dubai Marina as a Commis II, supporting the creation of exceptional dishes in a five‑star hotel environment. You will work closely with chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations and uphold the highest food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the culinary team in food preparation, mise en place and equipment setup.
• Assist with trimming, cutting, deboning and portioning of meat, poultry and other products.
• Handle, label, store and maintain meat products according to HACCP and food safety standards.
• Participate in food pick‑up, ensuring efficiency and strict compliance with safety protocols.
• Provide assistance to Demi Chef de Parties and Chef de Parties, learning from experienced chefs.
• Maintain butchery equipment, tools and workstations in a clean, hygienic condition.
• Monitor quality and freshness of meat products and report any concerns.
• Keep the kitchen and butchery area organized and safe, adhering to food safety regulations.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a commis chef in a hotel or restaurant setting.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP).
• Passion for food and cooking with a keen interest in learning.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
