About the role
The Commis II supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, cooking food according to recipes, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position is based at Marriott Executive Apartments in Dubai.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients for cooking and cold dishes.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test foods for proper cooking.
- Monitor food quality, follow presentation standards and food preparation checklists.
- Set‑up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
- Check appliance and food temperatures and ensure compliance with safety and security policies.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑preparation experience.
- Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
Required skills
- Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Food safety and hygiene practices.
